After the unrest that occurred yesterday was quelled, another clash broke out at the Negombo Prison this morning (06).
Our correspondent says that nearly 15 people, including prison officers, have been killed in the clash, and their bodies are currently being taken out of the prison.
About 50 people injured in the clash have been admitted to the Negombo Hospital, most of whom are security personnel.
The police said that the unrest had broken out between prison officers and a group of inmates.
