The Batticaloa Magistrate's Court today (13) ordered the remand of former State Minister Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan alias 'Pillayan', who was arrested under the Prevention of Terrorism Act, until July 24.

Magistrate A. Darshani, after considering all the facts, ordered the suspect to be further remanded until July 24. The suspect was produced before the Nimadakalapua Magistrate today via video conferencing technology, and two lawyers appeared in court on his behalf.
