Veteran theatre artist Kalasuri Satishchandra Edirisinghe has passed away. It is reported that he passed away while receiving treatment at a private hospital due to an illness.
He was 84 years old at the time of his passing. He was an artist who displayed exceptional talents in cinema, stage drama and teledrama.
He made his debut as a film director through the film "Matara Achchi" and gave the audience many meaningful creations such as 'Rajagedara Paruwa', 'Sri Madara' and 'Satyagriha'.
His performances in films such as 'Mahagedara', 'Bambaru Aetha' and 'Mathu Yam Diksha' were critically acclaimed.
He has worked for the advancement of teledrama since its early days and has displayed his talent through teledramas like 'Mahamera' and stage plays like 'Hunu Wataye Katha'.
