In a special raid conducted near the banks of the Mauara Ela at the end of the Hambegamuwa-Gomagala road in Monaragala, the police have succeeded in arresting a suspect with a stock of cannabis that was prepared for transportation.

The total quantity of cannabis seized during this raid is 1044 kilograms and 180 grams, and its value is said to be approximately seven hundred and thirty seven hundred and eighty thousand rupees.

Meanwhile, the police have succeeded in raiding a cannabis farm cultivated on an area of ​​one and a half acres in the same area and arrested another suspect with 54,096 cannabis plants.
