The Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government has ordered that the national flag be flown at half-mast in all state institutions during the three-day national mourning period declared due to the passing of veteran musician and scholar Nanda Malani.
Accordingly, the national flag is scheduled to be flown at half-mast for three days today (21), tomorrow (22) and the day after tomorrow (23).
In this regard, information has been sent to the Secretaries of the Ministries, Provincial Chief Secretaries, District Secretaries/Government Agents, Heads of Departments, Corporations and Statutory Boards under Home Affairs Circular No. 04/2026. The said circular has been issued under the signature of the Secretary to the Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government, S. Aloka Bandara.
